I managed to get a couple shots of this Blue Jay trying to crack its acorn against the lilac trunks before I saw the “oh him!” look in its eye and it disappeared with its prize. As members of the Corvid (crow) family Blue Jays have a huge range of vocalizations, and whenever I hear a new bird sound in the yard that I can’t recognize, 9 out of 10 times it turns out to beone of them. |
